Following Ashwini Bhide's Cosmopolis Festival concert (October 11, 7:30 PM, Shaw Auditorium), this workshop will take participants through the basics of Hindustani classical music and khayal renditions, including an extensive Q&A session with all of the artists. The discussion will touch on the intricacies of ragas, which form the base of all Indian classical music, and on the improvisatory nature of the performance. Read more

Hosted by two yoga gurus from India, this workshop will introduce attendees to two distinct traditions: hatha yoga, a type of physical meditation, and nada yoga, based on a focused awareness of sound. This workshop offers a holistic experience of yoga to beginners and seasoned practitioners alike. Session 1 provides an experience of yogic practice as close to the break of dawn as logistically feasible; Session 2 will consist of similar content in the afternoon. Read more
